I don't think Dallas would do that deal because they are getting basically the same pitcher for 4 million more. Plus all the teams money is going towards free agency right now. Secondly if you want to dump salary here is a proposal between 3 teams.

We need to find out if Kurt Wells will re sign with us, first off we are not very impressed with Daniel Smith's 3 rating at 2b, secondly we like Shunsho Yamada or Ed Benson to be the heir apparent to Kurt Wells if he decides to leave. We believe that Ed or Shunsho is just as good as Daniel Smith and they play a better 2B. Yes, it is true that we have a log jam a C in our minors, so for that we would trade Maynard to you for mL MR Rich Jackson or maybe Leonard Crockett. If you look at Maynard he could start for alot of EWB teams with a 10-9 defensive rating and solid ratings with 3 contact and power, so we believe that Jimmy is better than Smith, but as you have pointed out we could really use a MR. Hope we can make a deal.

Another thing I traded Romano, who is probably at the time better than MacGregor for Haberman and a 4th round pick. So I didn't get his full value because he made 9.9 million dollars.

I think you are missing my point in that who cares if MacGregor goes 8 innings (MacGregor only averaged like 6.5 innings per game this year) if Boston is in the World Series and they are a winning divisions who gives a shit how they do it. It's one thing if Boston wasn't winning then I would say you have a point. One last question,if you went to the World Series or won it and the way you got there or won it was that you started Cory Davidson would you say at the end of the season If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have started Davidson and would have been happy with just making the playoffs or just missing them, NO, you would say fuck it as long as were there or we won it we did what we had to do to get there. As far as you saying that Boston needs a C well they would be losing there B for another B so they don't gain anything. I want to reiterate my point that I understand that they have to use their bullpen more when Hearn pitches, but my whole point is who fucking cares as long as Boston wins and gets to World Series. And don't tell me the difference between Boston winning a World Series and not is Frank Hearn throwing 5 or 6 innings that is ludicrous. Remember MacGregor only averaged about 6.5 innings pitched per game.

You make it as if Hearn is of no value to Boston, look at his stats he has some of the best numbers for a starter. What if Boston trades Hearn and gets MacGregor and they are worse off, why rock the boat and especially for more money and giving up Hearn doesn't necessarily mean they will be better off. And as far as Urive goes he is not untouchable Boston wants to trade him for a NEED like an IF position and they don't need Leo Kennedy. As far as age vs talent and Ernie Owen vs Bowden yeah so Owen had a bad year that's not to say he can't have a great year next year and by being younger he has more of an opportunity to succeed and more years than an older player minimizing your odds of failure in a shorter amount of time. You say Chicago can just ride out Bowden's contract and then they will have 10 million to spend on the next guy, well by that time you aren't going to get the value you are looking for because 10 million won't be enough for the next good player the way salaries are escalating. Overall why do want to trade MacGregor for a closer? If you say all the good stuff about MacGregor why would you want to let him go for a closer and give up on a 11 pt SP. You can't discount Hearn because he is a closer and now a starting pitcher, he still is a very good SP regardless of fatigue. Also Frank Hearn is popular in Boston as he does a lot of charity work.

To any owner that is interested in 2B Gary Buckley, we are looking for draft picks. Buckley has the ratings and has been very good in our minor league system. I'm sure he could start for quite a few teams. We like Buckley, but we would like to see him get a chance to start somewhere. Offers?

Bad news for Cleveland as Earl Armstrong is lost for 7 months due to a torn back muscle. Cleveland was leading the Ohio Valley division by a game. Armstrong was 14-7, 3.05 ERA. That's a big blow for the Rockers as this was the first year since the Rockers won the division in 1988 that they could have won the division. The only year the Rockers have EVER won the Ohio Valley was in 1988. The Rockers are by no means out of it, but this makes things very tough.

Give Dave Morgan whatever he wants for an extension. He has our ballclub playing at an amazing level the last 2 years and especially in late innings where we have inordinate amount of extra innings wins and we attribute a lot of it to Dave's managing and attitude. So we will give him what he wants and if that makes him the highest paid manager in EWB than so be it, he deserves it.

The only way we do this deal is if it is R Great Falls MR Eric George and a 1st round pick, there is no compromise on our part because of in division and nothing else we want in your organization. Remember Dunlap is a 4 star MR and we are not desperate to get rid of him. Again the only way we trade him is if the right deal came along we are not trading him just for the sake of trading.

January 28th, 2009 by Wolverines GM and Banditos GM
We all know how bad Moran is and his problems and we know about Woolridge so we are willing to throw in Younger who is 22 and a 9 point pitcher. I think that is more than fair for a struggling pitcher.
Banditos: Since we took over the trading duties, the shop function is essentially finished.
What are you looking to acquire for Romano?
I wouldn't expect like the best prospect but a couple of young prospects, the whole point is to get Moran and deal Romano to save money.
Detroit offers AAA SS Dave Haberman, an excellent hitting and defensive prospect and R 1B Salvador Guzman, a 3rd rd. pick with great power potential, 33432.
How about Haberman and Bailey Manley for Romano and you pick a young starting pitcher(s) in my farm system.
No, for two reasons:
1- Manley is injured for 1-2 weeks and can't be traded. So he's off the table.
2-
Even if he were eligible probably wouldn't trade him. Detroit has 3
young SP prospects that will build their core staff in the next two
years, not going to break them up for a way too expensive Romano.
Haberman can start at SS for you next year if not earlier, and is a highly rated prospect
First off we want Haberman as a pinch hitter/back up SS
For example remember about 3 or 4 years ago when the Mets were in playoff contention and they needed MR/CL help so they had to trade Scott Kazmir and someone else to Tampa to get Victor Zambrano. Do you think the Mets wanted to trade Kazmir away as he was there best young pitching prospect for a rent a player like Zambrano, NO but they had to to get something they needed. This is for aprevious E mail I wrote about how teams that need something now have to give up more than what they want. Oh yeah it was about San Antonio and how they needed an EWB ready OF and I was offering Lyle Washington for that young CF they have. Bottom line is that when I want to make a trade for a player I have to give up a shitload and on the reverse the answer is they wouldn't or I won't give up a good young SP,OF,IF whatever because they need them for the future. Too fucking bad to get something of value you have to give up value.
Once again, Manley is off the table. He is injured. As far as you
accusing me of not wanting to give up young pitching, it's because of
Detroit's situation. If Pitt, CLE, or STL had the money to acquire
Romano then they would definitely give up a Bailey Manley type for
Romano. However, Detroit sucks and is totally rebuilding. They do
have 2-3 good young SP that may be ready in a couple of years. Why
pay Romano $9M a year for the next 2-3 years when they'll most likely
suck UNLESS they foresee some of these prospects developing and coming
up to complement Romano. If they sell of the future prospects for
Romano, they're screwing themselves because they'll suck and have a
high payroll. Even if these prospects suck and don't develop they sure
as hell aren't paying any money for them.
You're assumption
that to make a trade you have to get ripped off is false. You're
right, it was easy to rip off the computer, the primary reason is
because the computer didn't have the capability of analyzing all the
factors, especially when it came to contracts. Now you're just dealing
with humans, so go ahead and try to rip off the humans that's the
point, but don't get pissed when they don't agree or see things your
way. If me or Justin say NO to a trade in fantasy baseball, you don't
feel forced to rip yourself off do you? What's the difference? In any
trade both sides have to see the value and agree, you can't call me or
Justin crazy for not seeing things your way. Maybe, for once, you
should question your assumptions.
I guess my main thing is I don't understand comments like this:
"Third I am not complaining about a trade, matter of fact
we will
begrudgingly do Haberman and a draft pick, but if I were Detroit and I
wanted Romano and I offered what you were offering you would say NO WAY
and you would want a young good starting pitcher like Manley"
First,
how is it relevant what I would do, whether your assumption is right or
wrong? Either it works for you or it doesn't. By your grudging
acceptance I assume it works. Secondly, the biggest thing is that you
imply that me and Justin hold you to a higher standard for trades, like
were making it more unfair for YOU. BULLSHIT.
Finally, back to the trade. What Round Draft Pick were you looking for?

Admirals: How about: Oyama, Ramos, and Woolridge.
Wolverines: You are fucking crazy
Admirals: Okay, well then you counter. When it comes to managing these other teams, I don't want to have to be spending time thinking up deals in response to a request. I mean, I might initiate an offer if something occurs to me. But, otherwise it should be your burden (and Rob's burden, in the San Antonio deal) to start things out with an offer.

1) Reconsider-- I state this because his numbers aren't really that great. He is kind of like a Bert Blyleven/Jack Morris type. He played on some great teams,no doubt, but that doesn't mean (in my book) that should qualify you for the HOF. To me a HOF's numbers should stand out to where there is not any question (again my standards). I just don't see it.

Rob is right, the Commisioners office has to do a better job of routing. We start off the season at WAS, then back home for 3 against MIN, then travel to LA for 3, then back home for 3 against ATL, all with NO DAYS OFF in between. Then we go out to POR for 3, then fly all the way across country to New Orleans for 3. For all that traveling we have 1 DAY OFF ! That is bullshit, we may start off the first month in a bit of a hole. We have our first 24 games with 1 DAY OFF with all the traveling, it is going to be an interesting month of April for the Wolverines.

Hey I am trying to find out what I can get for Lincoln SS Jose Muniz a 5 star potential and 55th ranked and 57th ranked Dundee CF Rintaro Oyama (ranked right now at 55 and 57 and to go up next year) like a young player ready now. I am asking like would it be out of question that Atlanta would trade 3B Danny Welch for both or does that not make sense to them. Or for like Las Vegas 2B Michael Cobb, or San Antonio's CF Michael Johnson and AAA Tom Rogers. What's your take. Posistions I am looking for would be SS,3B, CF at least 4 contact and high defensive ratings.

Just going through all my old e mails and ran across this. I could of had Doug Kelly for I believe Miguel Gonzalez. Funny some of the shit you run across when you go through old emails you keep. Circa 1991.
Hey Mike ,
Given your pitching situation , we might be interested in a trade since we have more ML-caliber starting pitchers than we can fit into the rotation at once. Here would be our candidates for a trade , going from most expensive to least.
Antonio Aranda. We value Aranda very highly , so highly that I doubt a deal could get done for him. But , just in case you’re willing to knock our socks off , I thought I would mention him.
Let me know if you’re interested. I don’t know exactly what I would want , so I leave the work of figuring out a deal to you. I think I probably would want mL hitting (or maybe low level SP) prospects , although how good the prospects are would obviously turn on which player you’re looking at.
